Braddock Dogs has now collected $10,115.98 in donations! We will be submitting an application for the Mastenbrook Grant shortly, which will match up to $10,000 of our donations. Now that we have reached this milestone, we can request the full matching amount, but we'd like to raise an additional $5,000. Please help!

Reminder: Volunteers Needed this Sunday, March 10th @ Monticello Park, 1pm

Braddock Dogs needs volunteers to meet at Monticello Park on Sunday, March 10th @ 1pm. You will be greeted upon arrival and given a short list of addresses for dog owning homes. We ask that you visit these homes and talk to the owners about Braddock Dogs and the off-leash dog area at Monticello Park. We are asking neighbors in the community to make a small donation in support of it.

We will have a short list of dog owning homes and a sample script for you. Bring a friend and spend an hour meeting dog lovers in your community! The campaign will be followed by a small social event!

Only $50 from 140 dog owners combined with your pledges will get us to the $15,000 required to develop the off-leash dog area at Monticello Park!

If you are willing to talk to dog owners on your street, but can't make it on March 10th, contact Erin at braddockdogs@gmail.com so she can give you a list of dog owners in your neighborhood to visit at your convenience!

Thanks so much for your help and support! We can't do this without wonderful volunteers like YOU!

Donate to Support Braddock Dogs

Hello Braddock Dogs Supporters,

Thank you all for your tremendous support of Braddock Dogs and its efforts to establish an OLDA at Monticello Park. We accomplished a major milestone with the passage of the Bond referendum this November. This is a huge step in making the OLDA a reality and it could not have happened without your votes!

Our next goal is to raise the necessary funds to move forward with Park development. If we are able to obtain the required $15,000 in donations by March 31st, 2013, we can request bond funds for the development of Monticello Park as soon as July 2013. This gives us the best possible chance of having a usable OLDA as soon as possible.

Currently, we have obtained $5,430 worth of pledges. Those pledges need to be converted to donations and we need to increase our efforts to raise the additional funds to cover construction costs.

The Fairfax County Park Foundation (a 501c3 nonprofit, tax exempt organization) is managing the collection of funds. Charitable gifts donated to the Fairfax County Park Foundation are tax deductible. Donations made by December 31st, 2012 can be written off on your 2012 taxes. Make your donation while the charitable gift tax deduction still exists!

Braddock Dogs Meeting 11/29 and Pledge Update

Braddock Dogs will hold our next meeting this Thurs, Nov 29th at 7:30pm in Braddock Hall, attached to Kings Park Library.

We want to thank everyone for supporting the Park Bond on Election Day, which passed successfully! This is great news for Braddock Dogs! Money from the park bond will be needed to address some important issues, such as building a larger parking lot and improving drainage for the communities bordering Monticello Park.

We will be joined this week by Bobbi Longworth of the Fairfax County Park Foundation. She is going to speak with us about the next steps for Braddock Dogs and the process of collecting donations. We hope to see you there!

Braddock Dogs has now raised $5,430 in pledges, 36.2% of the $15,000 goal we need to develop the Monticello Off Leash Dog Area!  If you have not pledged, please consider doing so!
